Electronic Timing

ELECTRONIC TIMING, TRANSPONDERS AND MYLAPS

MERC use MYLAPS and their MX X2 and the new MX TR2 Transponders for the timing of events. MERC phased out manual scoring at our events in 2018, so to be eligible for timing, placings and points you now have to have a transponder.

We have ten club transponders available for hire at $25 per event.  These are often sold out by race day - it's a first in best dressed arrangement.

If you plan on doing a few events over the season and years, despite the initial cost, you are better off buying your own.  You can purchase the transponder online here.  We recommend you buy the MX TR2 Bike transponder.  You will need a subscription with your transponder, there are various yearly options available.  You will also need to register your transponder before the event.  When purchasing transponders be sure that the one you are getting is an MX version - go cart transponders etc will not work for MX.

You should load your transponder number into your MA ridernet profile, this way you can automatically choose it when registering for an event and not miss out on being timed.  This is an important step and one a lot of people forget to do.

Always remember to give your transponder a full charge just before the event.  There's nothing worse than turning up to the event with a flat transponder.

It's worth downloading the Speedhive MYLAPS app for viewing and comparing results.

After the initial subscription it’s essential to renew your transponder.  Click here to login into your account to renew.
